A bit o knitting

Started a pair of socks in the new Kaffe Fassett yarn - a muted fall colour in my usual basic sock pattern (mistake stitch rib). I can knit surreptitiously when the kittens are sleeping but as soon as they realize I have fun things for them to play with in my hands I have at least one of them biting at the yarn. Have managed to get about half way on 1 in a week - not quite my usual pace!

As a reward for losing 43 lbs, I have enrolled in ballet classes and am taking 3 a week to get myself into shape again. I started classes as an adult many years ago and took class until my 2nd child was born. She is now 22 so it had been a VERY long time.

Part of the reward was to take class at the National Ballet School. Their adult program is about 10 years old and there are 700 adult students enrolled this term! Wow!

Taking ballet, plus some walking and some strength training I should get into pretty good shape I hope. No more couch potato for me!

Feels like New Year's!

Now if I can only get some knitting done........

I'm not taking ballet but I have started to walk 2 miles a day and doing the strength training. Like you, I'm hoping to get in shape, stay in shape and keep all parts healthy. Good luck to you, I hope we're both a big success.
The kitties are adorable! I have 3, but they're no longer kitties so they let me knit.

Ballet school - oo, it sounds like fun!

I've been walking to and from work on a fairly regular basis now...it's amazing how much better a little exercise can make us feel, eh?
